The average temperature for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is 36.30 C. The average temperature for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is 36.70 C. If Monday's temperature recorded as 390 C, find the Thursday's temperature ?

   A.) 40.2º C
   B.) 40.4º C
   C.) 40.5º C
   D.) 41.2º C

Answer: Option 'A'

Mon + Tue + Wed Temperature = 3X36.3 = 108.9
Given, Monday's temperature = 39º C
=> Tue + wed Temperature = 108.9 - 39 = 69.9
Given, Tue + wed + Thu temperature = 3 X 36.7 = 110.1
So, Thursday's temperature = 110.1 - 69.9 = 40.2º C

7.

The average of 26 numbers is zero. Of them, at the most how many may be greater than zero?

   A.) 25
   B.) 27
   C.) 24
   D.) 13

Answer: Option 'A'

Average of 26 numbers is = 0 Therefore sum of all 26 numbers = 0
It is quite possible that 25 of these numbers may be positive and if their sum is "a" then 26th number is "(-a)"

8.

The average age of a group of 10 students was 18. The average age increased by 1 year when two new students joined the group. What is the average age of the two new students who joined the group?

   A.) 23
   B.) 24.5
   C.) 24
   D.) 26

Answer: Option 'C'

The average age of a group of 10 students is 18.
Therefore, the sum of the ages of all 10 of them = 10 × 18 = 180
When two students joins the group, the average increase by 1. New Average = 19
Now there are 12 students Therefore, sum of all the ages of 12 students = (12 X 19 ) = 228
Therefore, the sum of the ages of two students who joined = 228 - 180 = 48
And the average age of these two students = 24

9.

The average age of a group of 10 students was 24. The average age increased by 1 years when two new students joined the group. What is the average age of the two new students who joined the group?

   A.) 30
   B.) 31.5
   C.) 30.5
   D.) 31

Answer: Option 'A'

The average age of a group of 10 students is 24.
Therefore, the sum of the ages of all 10 of them = 10 × 24 = 240
When two students joins the group, the average increase by 1. New Average = 25
Now there are 12 students
Therefore, sum of all the ages of 12 students = ( 12 X 25 ) = 300
Therefore, the sum of the ages of two students who joined = 300 - 240 = 60
And the average age of these two students = 30

10.
